The CMAE is pleased to have partnerships with the following educational organisations and Universities.
Bournemouth University
Bournemouth University (BU) is located on the south coast of England, just two hours from London. We currently have more than 17,000 students of which 1,500 are international students from around 130 countries.
Our courses are closely linked with industry, helping to ensure they are cutting-edge and professionally recognised. BU is the first UK university to ever be commended by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for the quality of learning opportunities available to students.
The Department of Sport & Physical Activity within the Faculty of Management at BU undertakes teaching, research and enterprise activity in a broad range of fields and disciplines, including sport psychology, sport development, coaching sciences, physiology, performance analysis, sport management, health sciences, and the sociology of sport. Their research has application in the real world and that impacts on policy, performance, participation, practice, and pressing social problems.
Accredited Courses
The CMAE is pleased to accredit the following courses offered through Bournemouth University:
BSc (Hons) Sports Management (Golf)
This course focuses on golf club management and is strongly underpinned by fundamental management and business concepts. It’s been designed to give you an excellent insight into the golfing industry and we’ve consulted extensively with many industry bodies, including the PGA, the English Golf Union and the CMAE, among others.
The golfing sector is highly competitive, with employers looking for a blend of practical experience and academic knowledge that this course provides. As well as examining sports management in relation to golf, you’ll also cover wider sporting and business issues.
Student Placement Programme
Professional work placements are absolutely key to the BU ethos. Every undergraduate student gets the chance to do one and we have more students in placements than any other university in Great Britain. All our undergraduate sport students complete a compulsory 30-week placement and we are also one of the few institutions that offer a placement to our Master’s students.
You have the opportunity to recruit someone who:
- Will bring a new perspective and a fresh approach to your business
- Is highly motivated, eager to learn and has the ability to assimilate new information quickly
- Is able to undertake a variety of projects to support your business
- Is computer literate and creative
- Often base their final dissertation on the experience gained during their placement which can provide you some creative business insights.
