Gaining the CCM status has given me the confidence that I am following the best practice in my work place. The education pathway that I followed over a number of years helped me greatly in getting to the position to be able to sit the exam. Education has played a big part in my career and I highly recommend CMAE membership and education pathways to anyone looking to further their knowledge and network in the Club industry
Chris Lomas gained his CCM qualification in 2014 after 25 years in the golf industry.
Starting as a 16 year old Professional Shop assistant he soon realised that it was being out on the golf course that interested him more.
5 years later Chris gained a HND in Golf Course Management and went on to be Deputy Head Greenkeeper at Swinley Forest Golf Club and then Course Manager at the revered 36 hole The Berkshire Golf Club for 12 years, where he also achieved the Master Greenkeeper qualification.
Always wanting to further his career, Chris chose Club Management as the way forward and joined CMAE. He moved to Worplesdon Golf Club as Secretary, where he has been for 6 years.
A former semi-professional rugby player representing England at age group levels, Chris now enjoys road cycling and has 2 young daughters to occupy his spare time.
