Raise your Club’s profile and presence using Facebook!

By John Jackson

One of my main roles at Grange Park as Secretary/Manager is to market the Club and increase our overall profile. For those of you that know Grange Park, you’ll know we have one of the best golf courses in the North West. We have a quality product on offer and it’s my job to let as many people as possible know!

When it comes to marketing, I like to use a number of different methods. However, the most effective and cost effective way to promote the Club I’ve found is through the use of social media, especially Facebook. Each day I make sure to post something engaging and different that people will find interesting and want to see.

Every now and then I will run a ‘Facebook Giveaway Competition’ where people have the chance to win something quite significant, usually a free fourball. I make sure to do a video post for the competition as videos tend to generate a higher reach.

To enter the competition, people have to like our page, tag three friends in the post they’d like to play with and then they have to share the post.

Below is a post I did back in March to win a two ball with two buggies. As you can see, this particular video post reached over 12,000 people, was watched over 5,000 times, engaged over 1,600 people and was shared 150 times and the best bit? It cost us absolutely nothing!

This post resulted in us getting over 20 new Facebook followers which as I see it, is 20 new potential customers for Grange Park.

If you’re thinking of a way to promote your Club, give this a go. You won’t be disappointed.

Let me know how you get on!
