World Record Cyclist set to speak at CMAE European Conference and world class venue announced for gala dinner

The CMAE is delighted to announce that world record holding long-distance cyclist Mark Beaumont BEM will speak at the European Conference on Club Management in London this September 22-24.

In addition, it has been confirmed that The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which is home to the Wimbledon Championships will be the venue for the conference gala dinner event.

Mark Beaumont has made a career of World firsts and records to over 130 nations & territories, made documentaries over 15 years, as well as publishing 5 books. Having cycled around the World twice, he now holds this 18,000-mile record in 78 days & 14 hours – achieving the famous ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ for the first time by bicycle. Off the bike, these record breaking journeys have been through the high Arctic, mountaineering and ocean rowing, including surviving capsize in the mid- Atlantic. Mark was awarded a British Empire Medal in the Queen’s New Year’s honours for contributions to sport and charity.

A hugely experienced keynote and conference speaker, Mark is valued for his ability to translate performance & strategy planning in the expedition world to a wide range of business audiences.

The news comes after the CMAE last month announced Maggie Alphonsi MBE as another keynote speaker for the flagship event.

CMAE CEO Torbjorn Johansson commented “We can’t wait to welcome both Maggie and Mark to the stage at the European Conference. This is just the start to a stellar line up of inspirational speakers and topics that delegates can listen to at the event, in addition to visiting some world class venues such as Wimbledon!”
