A record number of delegates attended the latest MDP 1 in Scotland
On the Wednesday evening of the week the CMAE Scottish Region organised a special seminar with speakers reflecting on the key learning from the CMAA (Club Managers Association of America) World Conference held in San Antonio last March. Over 70 delegates were welcomed to the session sponsored by insurance company Circle Golf. Prior to its start, Kevin Fish took the opportunity to present Club Management Diplomas to nine Scottish Club industry professionals who achieved this prized qualification this year.
Launched in 2011 the highly regarded Management Development Programme (MDP) delivers top class education to club managers and senior staff throughout Europe, covering all 10 Core competencies of modern club management. The course was again underwritten and hosted by Scottish Golf who, since 2011 have placed education for club managers at the forefront of their support of the industry in Scotland.
Scottish Golf Club Services Manager Kevin Fish CCM said “By the end of the week it is clear to delegates that Scottish Golf is serious about supporting them and their clubs, not just with this excellent education product, but also the support tools we make available to our club managers. We are delighted by the success of the 12 MDP courses that have been run in Scotland so far, and we are starting to see the statistics to prove our investment is worth it !”
The MDP pathway was originally developed by CMAA and thanks to their vision and insight has been shared with CMAE who have adapted the materials for the European Golf, Sports and City Club Markets.
