CMAE and Dubai Golf who have joined forces to host a Management Development Programme (MDP) for club industry professionals in the Middle East, have been delighted by the response, to date over 20 delegates have signed up from seven different countries, leaving the programme close to being sold out.
The MDP Part 1 takes place at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club from Sunday 29th May to Thursday 2nd June 2016.
The MDP 1 focuses on Club Operations and the 10 core competencies of the modern club manager.
The 5 day residential programme will see leading club industry experts from USA, UK and Middle East delivering the top class education.
In addition to the core curriculum there will be an additional education session added. The “Learn from the Middle East Golf Industry Leaders” session will take place on the Tuesday night of the programme and features a ‘round table’ debate on the club industry with Julian Small MD of Jumeriah Golf Estates, Chris May CEO of Dubai Golf, Mark Chapleski VP Troon Golf and Nick Tarratt of the European Tour. Each will be giving details of their recipes for success in operating in the Middle East.
Commenting on the forthcoming course, Dubai Golf’s Chief Executive Chris May CCM said, “we are excited about bringing executive club education to the Middle East. It is important to drive club management education here with clubs being such an important part of the tourism and corporate fabric of the region. Dubai is the perfect venue with so many clubs in our Emirate and as it is such an easy place to reach from around our region. Our partner hotel the Park Hyatt is also a great place for the delegates to stay during the week. The response to the programme has been great and to see delegates come from seven different countries and as far a field as Hong Kong shows the power of education and accessibility of
Dubai.”
A Club Management Diploma is available to all CMAE delegates who attend the MDP 1 and MDP 2 courses, then pass the multiple choice exam on the 10 core competencies of a modern club manager, successfully fulfil the obligations of the group executive case study, including a presentation to a ‘Board’ on their findings and finally submitting and passing a work based assignment of 1,200 – 2,000 words on a situation at their club that they have resolved using the strategic management tools learnt during the two programmes.
