Four Club Industry professionals have recently achieved the globally recognized benchmark of excellence in Club Management by passing the Club Manager Association of Europe’s (CMAE) Certified Club Manager (CCM) examination raising the number of CCM’s to 30 Club Industry professionals across Europe.
Four Club Industry professionals have recently achieved the globally recognized benchmark of excellence in Club Management by passing the Club Manager Association of Europe’s (CMAE) Certified Club Manager (CCM) examination raising the number of CCM’s to 30 Club Industry professionals across Europe.
The latest are: Derek McKenzie CCM, General Manager at Santiburi Samui Country Club, Thailand; Ray Mooney, CCM, General Manager of The Stephen’s Green Hibernian Club in Dublin; Richard Pennell, CCM, Assistant Secretary at the New Zealand Golf Club in Surrey and Nick Solski, CCM, Director of Golf at Skolkovo Golf Club in Moscow.
CMAE’s Education Policy Board Chairman, Kevin Fish, commented on the success “all four have thrown themselves enthusiastically into the CMAE’s Management Development Program (MDP), and to pass this particular exam before the full MDP education pathway is available, is an incredible feat which shows just how much knowledge they have gained at the coal face of club management over many years.”

The CMAE has been in existence for more than 12 years, and is now successfully mirroring its American counterpart (CMAA), in the creation of an effective education pathway for club managers. In 2011 CMAE launched their MDP throughout Europe encouraging club industry leaders to enhance their education with the ten core competencies of the modern club manager. To date over 400 club managers have attended the MDP programme, with 30 now achieving the coveted CCM status. CMAE’s MDP pathway will be completed in 2015 with the fifth and final course “Strategy and Leadership” being launched in October.
