Ethnically Diverse Managers in Golf 2024 Bursary

The European Club Education Foundation (ECEF), the education bursary arm of CMAE, and The R&A are launching five bursaries for aspiring and existing golf club managers from ethnically diverse backgrounds each year for the next five years.

The bursaries are funded by The R&A as part of its commitment to increase the ethnic diversity of those working in the golf industry. Research conducted by The R&A among those from ethnically diverse communities has suggested that role models are key to demonstrating that golf is open to all, not only as a participant in the sport but as a professional career opportunity.

The recipients of the bursaries will each have place on the CMAE’s successful Management Development Education Programme (MDP)
The bursaries start with a place on MDP 1, which covers the remit of operational skills required to run a Club, with the hope that participants will then progress through the MDP pathway to gain the Club Management Diploma (CMDip), seen as the club industry’s benchmark management qualification.

Potential applicants should apply online at https://www.cmaeurope.org/application-for-ethnically-diverse-managers-in-golf-bursary-2024/

Closing date for applications is 25th May 2024

Decision will be made by 21st June for recipients to choose the most appropriate location in Europe or the Middle East to take MDP1. The five places awarded in 2024 will be allocated, if possible, to two from GB&I; two from Europe and one from Africa/Middle East.
