Delegates get a feast for the senses at latest MDP on Food & Beverage

The Club Management Association of Europe (CMAE) recently held their MDP course specialising in Food and Beverage in Montreux, Switzerland, from April 15th to 19th, 2024.

Hosted against the picturesque backdrop of Montreux, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and culinary excellence, the programme attracted 18 delegates representing clubs from across Europe.

The five-day residential course provided invaluable insights and strategies aimed at elevating F&B operations and increasing the bottom line of participating delegates clubs.

Throughout the course, delegates were immersed in a dynamic learning environment designed to deepen their understanding of F&B management principles and best practices. The curriculum encompassed a wide array of topics including menu planning, profitability, service management, events, compliance, labour costing and the staffing crisis.

Among the highlights of the week were exclusive visits to premier establishments such as the Golf Club Montreux and the esteemed Glion Institute, where delegates engaged in practical learning experiences such as barista training, BBQ workshop, mixology and kitchen design.

Commenting on the success of the programme, Michael McCormack, Director of Education at CMAE said, “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to this year’s F&B Management Development Programme. The enthusiasm and engagement demonstrated by the delegates highlights the importance of continuous learning and professional development within the F&B industry. We are confident that the knowledge and insights gained during the course will empower participants to drive excellence within their F&B Operations.”

Jon Dry, General Manager at Broadstone Golf Club and a delegate on the MDP said “MDP F&B was an outstanding week. The content of the course was powerful, containing valuable information which can be taken back to the club and used on a daily basis. Our visit to Glion is a day which will stay in my memory for years to come and I have every confidence that our members and staff will benefit greatly from what I learnt in Montreux.”
