The CMAE has today announced a brand-new online workshop which will help club managers with the redundancy process at their clubs.

“How to Design, Manage and Conduct a Professional and Compassionate Redundancy Programme” is an online workshop designed to support those managers who are given the task of implementing redundancies, despite having little experience, training or coaching on how to manage the redundancy process.

The workshop will take 10.5 hours to complete and will be split over three days on the 6th, 10th and 13th August. The sessions will be from morning till lunchtime on all three days.

Presenting the workshop is CMAE’s MDP educator on HR Susan Stevenson, who is an experienced senior level executive with over 20 years experience in human resources, alongside Business Coach Bill Sanderson and the City of London Club’s Secretary Ed Plunket, who has experienced first-hand the process of making redundancies since Covid-19.

The workshop covers all manners of the redundancy process, including the legal framework, stress management, building and maintain moral within the club for members and remaining staff

“We are pleased to be able to support the industry as much as we can during these difficult times” said CMAE’s Director of Education Torbjorn Johansson. “Making redundancies is a stressful task made worse for those who have limited to no experience dealing with the process. This workshop has been developed not only to help those managers in that situation but to ensure staff receive the best possible support during what is undoubtedly a difficult time for them”.
