Nic Davies the Golf Project Manager of the Safaa Golf Club at The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is the first club industry professional working in Saudi Arabia to receive the Club Managers Association of Europe’s Club Management Diploma.

Nic attended MDP Parts One and Two over a two year period, and attained his Diploma by passing the end of programme exam, successfully fulfilling the requirements of an executive case study (that takes place during the week of MDP 2) and submitting and passing a work based assignment on a problem at his club that he resolved by applying the key learnings from the MDP curriculum.

Launched in 2011 the highly regarded MDP Pathway has already been promoted and delivered in Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, France, Spain, Italy and United Arab Emirates. Each course delivers top class education to club managers and club industry professionals on the 10 core competencies of modern club management.

Nic received his diploma at a presentation ceremony in Dubai from Chris May CCM the CEO of Dubai Golf who was instrumental in organizing CMAE’s education programmes to come to Dubai.

Chris said of Nic’s success “it always gives me pleasure to hand out the Diploma certificates to industry peers. It was great that Nic made the effort to travel to Dubai for his club management education. He worked incredibly hard during his time at MDP, and is now applying that knowledge at his club.”

Commenting on his success Nic said “As I am currently working in a backwater of golf still in its infancy in Saudi Arabia, participating in MDP 1 and 2 has given me great inspiration to strive to bring golf to a wider audience with new skill sets gleaned from my study time on the Club Management Diploma. This process has been instrumental in helping further my enthusiasm for our great game, with the added bonus that the Diploma is recognized around the world as a high-quality educational accolade’

In 2017/18 CMAE will roll out another 12 MDP courses throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East, with two programmes taking place in Dubai in May 2018.
