The Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) hosted their latest MDP course on Food & Beverage in the picturesque town of Montreux, Switzerland on the 25-29 April.
The five day education course focused on increasing delegates knowledge of Food & Beverage operations with sessions on customer service, stock taking, recruitment, costing a dish, profitability, events, marketing and HACCP compliance.
The delegates also visited the renowned Glion Institute, one of the world’s finest Swiss hospitality management schools where they experienced hands on practical workshops and a behind the scenes tour of a Michelin star kitchen and restaurant.
Later in the week delegates were taken to Club du Domaine Impérial where they experienced a tour of the club and its operations as well as a session on barista training.
Andrew Travers Operations Manager at Turnhouse Golf Club who was a delegate on the course said “The MDP Food & Beverage was a fantastic week and I left with mountains of information and ideas to work on at my own club. The course combines classroom learning with practical, hands on experiences and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the club industry. Having the opportunity to discuss industry best practice with a great group of likeminded people just made the experience even more worthwhile!”
Commenting was CMAE Director of Education Torbjorn Johansson. “we are delighted by the success of the programme, our delegates had an excellent week of education and feel empowered to go back to their clubs to evoke positive change in their food and beverage offering. Our thanks goes to all of the quality presenters and the staff at Glion Institute and Club du Domaine Impérial”
“We, CMAE feel that coming to Switzerland was a natural step for us now that we have ASGM as Alliance Partner since the country is known for its amazing training in hospitality.”
