The Course was organised by the Irish Golf and Club Managers Association, underwritten and promoted by the Confederation of Golf Ireland (CGI) with support from Skillnet.

Seventeen delegates from the Golf Club Sector enjoyed presentations by leading educators, including Ronnie Malcolm: Management and Delegation, Steven Brown: Food and Beverage, Duncan Ritchie: Accounting and Finance, Bill Sanderson: Marketing and Kevin Fish, CCM on Club Governance.

Launched in 2011 the highly regarded MDP Pathway has been promoted and courses held across Europe. The programme delivers top class education to club managers and senior staff on all 10 core competencies of modern club management.

The MDP programme was hosted by the Confederation of Golf Ireland which firmly believes that progressive and on-going education for club managers will contribute to the continuing growth and development of clubs in their region.

John Roche Director of Golf and Business Development for CGI said of the programme “The Confederation of Golf in Ireland were delighted to once again team up with the IGCMA and CMAE to host a second MDP1 in Ireland. CGI is committed to supporting Golf Clubs on the island of Ireland and a key pillar of this strategy is education. The CMAE MDP program is the perfect platform to help enhance the educational offerings to those wishing to pursue a career in club management or those wishing to develop and enhance their qualifications. We are delighted to see many of those who attended our first MDP earlier in 2015 have gone on to continue their MDP Journey by taking further modules. CGI look forward to working with the IGCMA and CMAE over the coming years and are already planning MDP 1 and 2 for Ireland in 2016.”

The MDP pathway was originally developed by the Club Managers Association of America and thanks to their vision and generosity, has been given to CMAE which has adapted the materials for the European Golf, Sports and City Club Markets.

The next Management Development Programme being organised by the IGCMA and CGI is an MDP Part 2 from 29th February to 4th March 2016 in Dublin, for which a few places are still available. Book now!
