The Greenkeepers Training Committee (GTC) and mylearnadfriend Ltd, a GTC Quality Assured Training Provider, has announced a revolutionary partnership to provide affordable on-line health and safety accredited training to a global Golfing industry.
Middlesbrough based e-learning provider mylearnadfriend Ltd has created a unique online e-learning platform and the Safe Worker suite of accredited courses. This health & safety training platform has captured the imagination of employers, trade unions, insurance companies and educationalists worldwide and is now being made available through the GTC.
mylearnadfriend Ltd has developed software that works in conjunction with 360 degree panorama photography to recreate any work environment on-screen which enables employees to identify workplace hazards and correctly assess them in complete safety.
mylearnadfriend has worked with industry specialists and thanks to the GTC have been able to develop a product which will be of great benefit to golf clubs all over the world. The courses provided are accredited and support employers and staff at all levels and disciplines within the golfing industry.
David Golding, GTC’s Education Director who has been instrumental in bringing this innovative health & safety online learning platform to the golfing industry said,
“This product simplifies the delivery of accredited training, reduces the time employees need to spend away from their work, is cost-effective, leads to accredited qualifications and improves safety standards. Everyone wins.
Alan Plom, former head of HSE’s Agriculture Safety Section, Chair: Farm Safety Partnership’s Machinery Safety sub-group, Vice Chair: IOSH Rural Industries Group (RIG) says,
“I think the idea of an on-line interactive hazard spotting e-tool for employers, based on a 360 degree view of a workplace to assess risks, would be attractive to workers in many industries, not just the ‘environmental and land-based’ sector”.
Tony Abbott, mylearnadfriend MD, said “Our product is attracting attention from FE colleges, a number of major international manufacturers, trade associations and private training providers. One International partner is looking to take the product into 90 countries and another has identified 60 European markets where this kind of product would be unique.
Now that the training is available through the GTC website we can support the golfing industry and our Safe Worker suite of courses will satisfy their legal obligations to ensure all their staff and volunteers are H&S aware and certificated”.
