Education on the agenda for Portugal

25 Portuguese club managers gathered at Pestana Vila Sol on 16th April to participate in an educational workshop hosted by the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) in collaboration with Associação Gestores de Golf Portugal (AGGP).

25 Portuguese club managers gathered at Pestana Vila Sol on 16th April to participate in an educational workshop hosted by the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) in collaboration with Associação Gestores de Golf Portugal (AGGP).

The event was the first of a number of regional taster sessions CMAE are organising aimed at providing an insight into what managers can learn on the Management Development Programme and how they can help them take their clubs and careers forward.

The delegates enjoyed sessions by two of the MDP’s top presenters, Bill Sanderson on Leadership and Membership Marketing, and Rob Hill, Partner at Global Golf Advisors, on Club Benchmarking and Club Strategy.

Manager of Crail Golfing Society and CMAE President, David Roy CCM, also presented on Working with your Green staff and Facilities Management.

Commenting on the event Torbjorn Johansson, Director of Education at CMAE said “We are very pleased with the success of the first of our MDP taster session. All of the delegates who attended were engaged, enthusiastic and keen to take the next step in their careers and the Management Development Programme will help them to do this.”

Further taster sessions are planned to take place in Stockholm, Sweden on 28-29 May and in Amsterdam, Netherlands on 5th June.
