GolfNow has announced the acquisition of BRS Golf, the No. 1 provider of online golf booking software in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This addition to GolfNow’s portfolio will strengthen its ability to grow the game of golf through a seamless end-to-end technology solution, and will reinforce GolfNow’s ability to offer the most engaging experience possible for golfers.

Established in 2003, BRS Golf is a Northern Ireland company based in Belfast. It provides best-in-class online booking and tee time management software to more than 750 golf courses in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and several other countries. Its advanced cloud-based booking system is used by more than 300,000 golf club members, as well as thousands of visitors and tour operators who use the system to book their golf online.

GolfNow, based in Orlando, Florida, is a division of Golf Channel, the dedicated golf television network broadcast to more than 120 million homes worldwide. GolfNow, founded in 2001 and currently working with more than 5,000 member golf courses in six countries, provides the largest and most comprehensive online tee time reservation service in the world. The service operates the successful GolfNow.com portal, and along with iPhone and Android mobile phone apps, which together facilitated the booking of more than 8 million rounds of golf in 2012. GolfNow also offer many other services to golf courses, including email and electronic marketing, revenue management, social commerce, online instruction and golf events. These services help connect golf courses directly to nearly 2 million golfers, helping them increase revenue, reduce costs and grow participation in the game of golf.

BRS Golf will now focus more on mobile phone and tablet applications

“In addition to growth opportunities internationally, the addition of BRS Golf represent a significant step in expanding GolfNow’s ability to help golf courses market and operate more efficiently,” said Jeff Foster, senior vice president for GolfNow. “BRS Golf will help GolfNow better connect the world to golf through a wide range of programs and services that encourage the growth of the game.”

GolfNow will bring valuable expertise and significant investment to all areas of the business, allowing us to continue to offer the best product and service in the market place. We will also be introducing a whole new range of products and services to our customers, including mobile websites, mobile booking engines, email marketing, revenue management tools, and more.”

GolfNow and BRS Golf will be establishing new offices in Belfast and London and will be looking to recruit additional staff in all areas of the business, including sales, marketing, software development and technical support.
