Speaker Profile: Mohammed Al Naimi

Mohammed holds an Executive MBA degree from HEC Paris-Qatar, a Higher Diploma in Physical Education from University of Semmelweis Budapest, Hungary, a Diploma in Special Education from Qatar University, and Bachelor of Science in Education Major in Physical Education from University of Qatar.

Mohammed held various positions as Stage Manager, Competition Manager for Gymnastics in the Asian Games in Doha, General Secretary of the Asian Gymnastics Union, Executive Director and General Secretary of Qatar Gymnastics Federation and became part of the organizing team of an International Event – the Qatar Modern Pentathlon: Champion of Champions where he was awarded the Thanaa Award.

He then assumed the role of Recreation Services Manager at QF where he was responsible for raising the profile and standards of Recreation Services before being promoted to the role of Director of Community Affairs in QF, where he was instrumental in delivering comprehensive and easily accessible sports services, growing participation levels and delivering comprehensive sports services to the Education City community. He also led the Qatar Foundation National Sport Day which was awarded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Qatar.

Mohammed joined AMLAK as the Deputy General Manager for Education City Golf Club. Mohammed has the responsibility to provide leadership and management to the various departmental teams, generate knowledge, interest and support of the project amongst internal and external stakeholders, assist in the development the strategic planning and execute all objectives to ensure the golf club is ready for operations.

Qatar is a country investing heavily in infrastructure and amenities as it prepares for the 2022 Fifa World Cup, but is does not stop there as part of a 2030 vision the country recognizes that they need to diversify their economy and cannot rely on oil and gas alone.
With a new 5* hotel due to open every month for the next 4 years Qatar needs tourist amenities and Education City Golf Club will be one of those key amenities.

A country that has a public holiday dedicated to Sport – National Sports Day, it has invested in numerous sporting venues and facilities, many of which still require governmental support.

Mohammed Al Naimi and Michael Braidwood who lead Education City Golf Club are responsible for its performance in line with the pillars of Qatar’s 2030 vision –

Mohammed who has 4 degrees and has worked in the sports sectors for over 10 years has a dream to make Education City Golf Club a leading example of a sporting facility that can do just that, contributing to the 2030 vision, operating at the highest level in a sustainable manner.

Mohammed and Michael will explain how using the Balanced Score card methodology and linking it to their brand and values they can pull together a high performing team, all of whom know exactly what is expected on them through KPIs that are all linked back to the overarching strategic goals of the organization.
