Swilcan Advisors has been appointed to lead the search for a Director of Hospitality at La Grande Mare, Guernsey.
La Grande Mare is entering an exciting new chapter, with an ambitious vision to create a leading golf and hospitality destination bringing together golf, dining, events, accommodation and private club experiences.
Hospitality will be central to this vision. This is an opportunity for an ambitious senior hospitality leader to help shape the proposition, establish the culture and service standards, and build an operation capable of delivering exceptional experiences while achieving strong commercial performance.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Director of Hospitality will have overall responsibility for the hospitality operation, including:
- Food & beverage across multiple outlets
- Guest and member experience
- Weddings, corporate and private events
- Service standards and operational excellence
- Commercial performance, revenue and profitability
- Recruitment, development and leadership of a team of approximately 40 associates
- Executive Chef and wider front and back of house leadership
- Food safety, HACCP, licensing and health & safety
This is a hands-on executive leadership opportunity for someone who can combine strategic thinking with operational delivery and is excited by the prospect of building something rather than simply inheriting an established operation.
The Candidate
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded and service-led hospitality leader with:
- Significant leadership experience within luxury, premium or high-quality hospitality
- Experience managing multiple hospitality outlets
- Strong front and back of house leadership experience
- Proven commercial and financial management skills
- Experience leading and developing sizeable teams
- A track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Experience with events, weddings and/or corporate functions
- Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP and health & safety
Golf experience is not essential. We are interested in exceptional hospitality leaders from luxury hotels, resorts, private members’ clubs, restaurants, premium leisure and other high-quality hospitality environments.
The opportunity could suit an established Director-level leader or an exceptional senior manager ready to take their first executive leadership position.
