The Club Management Association of Europe (CMAE) proudly announces that Pierre Chevallier has been awarded the prestigious Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation, marking a major professional milestone and recognising his outstanding contribution to the club management industry.
The CCM designation is the highest international level of professional recognition for club managers and reflects excellence in leadership, governance, finance, operations and member experience. Pierre’s achievement follows more than a decade of commitment to professional development through the CMAE education pathway.
Pierre is widely respected for his contribution to the profession, having served as a Board Member of the Club Management Association of Europe and built a career spanning both governance and operational leadership roles across multiple sports sectors. His experience includes senior leadership positions in professional rugby and golf, where he has successfully applied the core competency framework in real-world, high-performance environments.
Torbjörn Johansson, CEO of CMAE, commented: “I am very happy to see Pierre get his CCM. He is a genuine person who has given so much of himself to help others throughout his career. I was blessed to spend time with him when I joined CMAE as he was on our Board at that time and now to see him come through as CCM is just amazing. Well done Pierre.”
Speaking on his achievement, Pierre took part in a Q&A:
It is 10 years since you did your first MDP. What do you remember of your start on the MDP pathway?
Even 12 years! MDP 1 in December 2013, in the heart of North Paris winter, with a group of French trailblazers and AIMG.
At that time, we were only a few keen on learning and studying in Club Management, in English only.
Despite our age and years of experience in our golf clubs, we were convinced that we could go further in performance and day to day management.
We knew we were opening a very special pathway.
You have also been a Board Member of the CMAE, now you are working for ADGF but your career pathway have taken you to different places in the last couple of years. Tell us about it:
That is Club management Magic! Board Member one day, Club operational another day.
As Sports culture is still growing in France, as a real business and careers purpose, sport clubs need good, trained and inspiring managers.
In the last couple of years, I had the chance and occasion to implement CCM Pathway’ core competencies, both in golf and rugby. In Rugby as RC Suresnes CEO, a French Pro Rugby Club, in golf as ADGF COO.
I can thus confirm that any sport or City Club could or should use various knowledge of a CCM.
If you were to advice young people in France (or anywhere) to go for CCM – What would you tell them?
Go for it, as it is an unique occasion to learn, as much specific competencies as on yourself.
You’ll meet great speakers, great personalities and, for sure, friends for life. From all over Europe and America.
Don’t let this special train leave without you. You will end up different, more performant, after this journey.
