Royal St George’s Golf Club, nestled in the historic town of Sandwich, Kent, is one of golf’s most iconic venues. The Club has partnered with Colt Mackenzie McNair to source a new Assistant Secretary.

Position Overview:
The main role of the Assistant Secretary is to manage and oversee the successful delivery of an outstanding golfing experience at Royal St George’s GC. This includes overseeing Pro Shop and Golf Operations, member competitions and events. The role also incorporates a strong emphasis of administering and managing visitor bookings and maximising course usage in line with the Club’s targets.

The role requires the candidate to be able to support and deputise for the Secretary in his absence. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and administrative skills as well as the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. This role is key in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, visitor days, member communications, record keeping, financial reporting, and event coordination.

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in the golf industry
  • Thorough knowledge of events and competition/ tournament administration.
  • Strong focus on control and process and strong attention to detail
  • Good technical and IT skills
  • Familiar with and comfortable in a busy small office environment, team player
  • Articulate with good interpersonal and written skills
  • Leadership role ensuring an exceptional golf experience for members and guests.
