  • Get LinkedIn with the CMAE
    The Club Managers Association of Europe has launched a major new membership benefit, an exclusive business networking group on LinkedIn, the social networking website for professionals, to enable CMAE members to network with each other over the internet.
  • CMAE Membership Renewal 2010
    All CMAE members should have received their membership renewal information by now, so if you have not received yours, please email Debbie Goddard at CMAE HQ, and she will send yours to you.
  • Election of CMAE Board
    At the forthcoming Annual General Meeting on 14th April, John McCormack CCM and Michael Walsh CCM are stepping down from office as the two longest-serving board members. Should any CMAE member wish to put their name forward and stand for election to the CMAE Board of Directors, they must write to the CMAE CEO Jerry Kilby CCM by email ([email protected]) confirming their willingness to stand for election and to serve if elected.
  • Harrogate Week Review
    Harrogate Week, a six-day event featuring educational seminars, conferences and a golf equipment exhibition, was a tremendous success in January. With many golf courses closed due to the weather, the numbers of those attending was very similar to the 2009 number, which when you bear in mind the economic situation, was very healthy indeed.
  • Student Work Placement Opportunities
    If any golf club in the United Kingdom, Ireland or northern Europe is looking for some willing help, I have been made aware of two individuals who are seeking a work placement opportunity.
  • The First Finnish CCM Candidates
    The first group of Finnish golf club managers completed their two year long education programme in December 2009. During the programme all the competence areas required in the Club Managers Association of Europe’s CCM exam were explored.

  • Crown Golf Announces 2009 Award-Winners
    Cown Golf held its annual conference at the group’s flagship property St Mellion International Resort, from 24-26 November.
  • EGCOA Conference a Huge Success
    More than 200 delegates attended last year’s fourth European Golf Business Conference in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. A growing number of golf courses were represented, compared to last year’s conference in Berlin. This demonstrated the significance of the event to a large number of participants.
