Golf Operations Manager, Portmarnock Golf Club

Founded in 1894 and situated 10 miles to the north of Dublin City, Portmarnock Golf Club is consistently ranked amongst the top courses in the world. With a rich history closely aligned to the promotion and development of golf in Ireland, Portmarnock has hosted many national and international events. The Club will host the Women’s Amateur Championship in June 2024.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Golf Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of the Club’s administration and golf operation, providing exceptional service to members and visitors. The successful candidate will support the General Manager in ensuring the Club is health and safety compliant and delivering golf revenue and member satisfaction targets.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of a world-class member and visitor golf experience.
  • Motivate and effectively manage the golf team, ensuring all departmental duties are delivered.
  • Administer and coordinate Club competitions, matches and major events.
  • Maintain strong relationships with tour operators to enhance both visitor experience and forward bookings.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to ensure the Club is H&S compliant.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years management experience, gained within a Golf Club, membership or hospitality environment, with diverse experience across a golf operation. We also welcome applications from candidates who may not be fully qualified but are ready to take the next step in their career with a view to developing within a management role.
