As part of their ongoing relationship with the Club, Legacy Golf Advisors are assisting Porters Park in their search for a new Golf Operations Manager. The Club is developing a modern strategy to ensure relevant plans are in place to provide a secure future for one of the leading private member clubs in the area. To achieve this the Club has undertaken an organisational review and recently appointed a new General Manager.
This role will further complement the team as they commence the implementation of an ambitious and exciting plan for the future. The Role:
Take ownership and responsibility for the entire customer golf experience provided by the Club, ensuring the highest level of service to members and guests of the Club.
Specifics:
Reporting directly to the General Manager, whilst working collaboratively with all other departments, this is a fully hands-on role. The G.O.M. will oversee and / or be responsible for:
- The planning, promoting, and directing of all golf activities to positively impact the golfing experience of members, guests, and visitors at the Club.
- Identifying and developing financial opportunities.
- Working alongside the Front of House and Catering Manager, take joint responsibility for the entire customer experience at the Club.
- Be responsible for all golf-related software being fully proficient in its use and be responsible for training other members of staff as appropriate.
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and customer service skills always and show a fully flexible approach to delivering the requirements of the Club.
- Define and implement improvements in all areas of the operation.
- Provide written reports on all aspects of the role on a regular defined basis to the General Manager for submission to the Board.
- Play an active role and take minutes at the Golf and Course MEG (Member Engagement Group) meetings and as a co-opted member of any MEG’s deemed appropriate using their in-depth knowledge of the changing golfing landscape to provide innovative solutions to ensure the delivery of these strategies.
- Responsibility for promoting and organising the tournament and competition schedule, promoting competitions and delivering innovative approaches in ensuring their prestige and history are recognised.
- Define and implement player development activities covering all levels of ability, taking an active role, and working alongside the Membership Manager, in the recruitment of new members across all categories.
