Kings Lynn Golf Club is a well-established private members club, having celebrated its centenary in 2023. The Club has a desire to reach and secure a place in the top100 of Clubs in England. We are seeking a General Manager who will share those ambitions and be key in both formulating and delivering the Club’s business plan.
The course was the first to be designed by the acclaimed Peter Alliss/Dave Thomas partnership and has matured into a challenging tree lined course, considered by golfers and golf writers alike, to be one of the finest and most scenic inland courses in East Anglia.
The Club’s Board are now seeking a General Manager whose priorities are to:-
- Enhance the Members & visitors overall experience.
- Lead the whole team to achieve the Club’s objectives.
- Provide strong financial management to the Club.
- Support the board in developing / delivering the strategic objectives for the membership, according to the Clubs Mission, Vision and Value Statement.
In order to meet these objectives, the successful candidate must demonstrate:
- A thorough understanding of the operational and governance demands of a private members Golf Club.
- An excellent communicator with strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate, performance manage and lead a team within the golf industry.
- The ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Firm understanding of financial processes and budget setting / management.
- The ability to work with colleagues at all levels of the organisation from committee members to front line operational staff.
- Competent in IT and computer technology.
- The ability to prioritise / manage workflow to achieve tight deadlines.
- Be an accomplished Manager with a proven record as a Golf Club manager with a working knowledge of the world handicap system.
