The Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the University of Highlands and Islands in Scotland.
The partnership will see the CMAE accredit the university’s BA (Hons) Golf Management degree, delivered at North Highland College UHI in Dornoch, and will see students undertake a consultancy project on behalf of the CMAE to complete their ‘niche professional: a business analysis’ module assessment.
In addition, CMAE will organise and deliver, on an annual basis, a one day seminar at the university entitled ‘Get into Management’, in collaboration with the Golf Club Managers Association (GCMA), giving students an insight into the life of a club manager and how they can get into club management as a career.
CMAE will also offer an annual CMAE top student award to the highest averaging BA (Hons) Golf Management student.
Alan Fleming, Programme Leader for the university’s golf management degree, said: “The collaboration between the University of the Highlands and Islands Golf Management degree and the CMAE is an exciting development which will be of huge benefit to the students and graduates from our programmes. Greater integration with and exposure to industry professionals, current practices and experiential learning will add to the students’ academic learning and will benefit them in transition into the industry and, in particular, club management roles. The university’s other golf programme has been developed with the Professional Golfers’ Association and this agreement for the BA (Hons) Golf Management, the only degree of its kind in Scotland, further enhances the university’s place in golf education.”
