Scope and General Purpose: Royal Cinque Ports is one of the premier golf clubs in the UK and is renowned throughout the golfing world. In order to maintain this reputation and continue to thrive, the Club needs a team of dedicated, professional and enthusiastic people working for it. It is of paramount importance that the quality of the Member and Visitor experience is of the highest standard.  

Reporting directly to the Golf & Membership Supervisor, the Club Operations Assistant will play a key role within a friendly and forward-thinking team. The responsibilities and characteristics of this role will include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Golf

  • Assisting with the management of the tee booking system, ensuring that information is up to date and accurate
  • Liaising with visitors to advise them on relevant Club information, such as dress code and handicap requirements. Also to include up-selling the Club’s extra services, such as catering
  • Helping to develop new green fee business
  • Welcoming visitors, making sure that they are aware of arrangements made for them and of the dress code
  • Starting and marshalling of Member & Visitor golf to ensure they abide by the rules and play in a timely manner

Membership       

  • Dealing with day to day member queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Supporting the Golf & Membership Supervisor with managing the Club’s membership database, ensuring that changes in information are accurately recorded
  • Helping members with the Club website  

Competitions      

  • Assisting with the running of competitions - from the planning stage through to completion

Events ·        

  • Assisting with the organisation of the Club’s dinners and other social functions

Desired Attributes/ Qualifications

  • A thorough understanding of golf and its traditions
  • CMAE qualification or similar golf qualification would be an advantage
  • Service and member-focused attitude
  • Good telephone and email manner
