Michael Braidwood, the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) Director of Education, and Vice President Marc Newey recently took advantage of two wonderful opportunities to promote CMAE’s Education Pathway and the Management Development Programme.

CMAE was invited to participate in the 3rd European Club Leadership Summit, which took place at Twickenham Stadium 7th – 9th December. The event hosted 60 delegates from the luxury club network who were treated to a number of educational presentations, the key ones being delivered by Knut Wylde of Claridges on Customer Service and Niall Flannagan from Club Inc on Building your Brand.

The following day CMAE’s Midland and North Region held a seminar at The Belfry where Jim James the Senior Director of Operations and Hospitality of August National addressed 50 delegates on the operating philosophy of The Augusta National Golf Club.

At both events Michael and Marc co-delivered a 45 minute presentation on CMAE’s education pathway, its management development programme, the qualifications available to Club Managers and the future rollout plan for the education courses.

Commenting on the opportunities Marc said “both of these events were a wonderful platform for CMAE to make club industry professionals aware of what education is available to them and how this can impact their careers”.

The CMAE 2015 education calendar will see 15 Management Development courses delivered throughout the year and across Europe in Scotland, England, Ireland, Italy, France and Spain.
