Commenting on his success, Chris said “I am of course both delighted and very proud to have achieved this qualification, I am now one of two to hold both Master Greenkeeper and Certified Club Manager status. I would be delighted if more greenkeepers were to follow this path. The CCM qualification, which has been running in America for 50 years, is now recognised throughout the world, and many organisations insist on this as a minimum requirement. I would recommend anyone who is serious about their Club Management career to consider CCM. I would like to take the opportunity to thank John Hunt and The Berkshire Golf Club, along with my Committee here at Worplesdon Golf Club, for supporting me through the process.”

Chris now joins an elite band of Club Industry professionals in Europe who have achieved CCM status raising the number holding the qualification to 34.

CMAE’s Education Policy Board Chairman, Kevin Fish, commented Chris’s success “I am delighted for Chris. He has put education at the forefront of his career path and to add CCM to his Master Green keeper qualification is a great achievement. I am sure this will inspire many more from the course management sector to come to our management development programmes”

The CMAE has been in existence for more than 12 years, and is now successfully mirroring its American counterpart (CMAA), in the creation of an effective education pathway for club managers. In 2011 CMAE launched their MDP throughout Europe encouraging club industry leaders to enhance their education with the ten core competencies of the modern club manager. To date over 400 club managers have attended the MDP programme, with 34 now achieving the coveted CCM status. CMAE’s MDP pathway will be completed in 2015 with the fifth and final course “Strategy and Leadership” being launched in October.
