The latest Club Managers Association of Europe’s (CMAE) Management Development Programme (MDP) Part 2 was another resounding success for the Club Managers of Spain last week in Madrid.

The Spanish golf club delegates were joined by managers from England and Portugal. Leading educators from America, Scotland, England and the Middle East, Gregg Patterson, Bill Sanderson, Kevin Fish CCM, Helen Bennett and Darshan Singh kept everyone engaged by their exciting presentations. Delegates also worked in teams on a case study problem solving exercise throughout the 5 day course.

Launched in 2010 the highly regarded Management Development Programme delivers top class education to club managers and senior staff throughout Europe, covering all 10 core competencies of modern club management.

The course was underwritten and hosted by Club Manager Spain who firmly believe that progressive and on going education for club managers will contribute to the continuing growth and development of clubs in Spain and throughout the world.

Club Manager Spain’s President, Daniel Asis CCM, said “we are delighted by the success of the MDP to date in Spain. We ran our first Part One course here in Spain in 2012 and since then have followed up with 5 more courses. These are really having a positive impact on the performance of our Spanish clubs. Our club managers are getting a great education and qualifications to match”

On the Wednesday evening of the course, Club Manager Spain organised a special dinner with internationally renowned speaker Gregg Patterson talking on a variety of club management issues and solutions. This dinner was attended by the delegates and other Spanish Club managers who had attended previous MDP courses.

The MDP pathway was originally developed by the Club Managers Association of America and thanks to their vision and generosity, it has been given to CMAE who adapted the materials for the European Golf, Sports and City Club Markets.

Feed back from the delegates was outstanding and organisers were pleased to hear comments such as:

The next MDP programme being organised by Club Manager Spain will be a MDP Part 1 course in Marbella in November.
